Easy Crystal Stitching
Reviewed by Cindi Bisson
Easy Crystal Stitching by Nikia Angel would be a good place to start for someone who wishes to begin to explore the art of crystal stitching. It begins with information on tools, materials and basic techniques, and then instructs the reader on constructing the “building blocks” required to recreate the designs within. These key elements include circles, triangles, squares, bezels, bails, spiral ropes, and toggle clasps. While this beading technique is compiled of intricate details and the patterns appear complex, this book breaks them down and makes achieving good results doable even for a beginner as the designs within are all based on these basic building blocks.
Ms. Angel’s individual design projects including bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings are then shared with stepped-out instructions and color diagrams to guide the beader through the process. Ultimately, it’s the “building block” techniques within these pages that are the most valuable part of the book as they will open the door to further creativity and unique designs imagined by the individual beaders themselves.
