10 February 2012, Berne, IN - DRG, a leader in the craft and nostalgia markets, has released a spring newsstand special-interest issue of its Creative Knitting magazine.

Make it this Weekend includes 116 pages of step-by-step instruction for creating more than 40 quick-knit projects. Designs are written to fit women and girls, with patterns in skill levels ranging from beginner through intermediate.

In addition to step-by-step instructions for creating shells, shawls, scarves and accessories, the magazine includes feature articles on knitting for charities, along with several pages of instructional aides on the basics of knitting, standard abbreviations and yarn and notions resources.

The magazine will be available soon on newsstands nationwide.

Kara Gott Warner is the editor. In 1997, she began designing knitted and crocheted garments and accessories, selling on the craft and artisan show circuit. She soon branched off to knitting patterns and kits, and in 2002, established igottknits, an independent knitting pattern collection sold through yarn shops and several online venues.

In 2008, Warner began working as a freelance knit editor for DRG, focusing on books. In 2010, she joined the company as executive editor for all knitting publications.
