Being an artist who enjoys working with polymer clay, canes have always intrigued me.
The projects Kay shares, including rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, highlight a wide variety of metal working techniques combined wonderfully with unique focal elements.
This is a true “workbook” for the creation of a Zen Quilt, rather than a project based guide. It gives you the knowledge you need to create something unique, in your own Zentangle® style.
Author Anna Elizabeth Draeger’s many projects will inspire you to give some of these unexpected beads a try in your own jewelry creations.
I admit, when I first saw the book my first thought was macrame wire bracelets made at summer camp, but the projects included are far from those basic bracelets...
I did enjoy her twist on staining glass pieces to create an ombre effect, and her use of vintage maps on tiles to create interesting coasters.
Stepped-out instructions and full-color photos, including alternately colored rings to highlight where the new rings are in each step, guide the reader through the projects.
It would be virtually impossible for anyone to look through this book and not be amazed by the depth of detail in Heidi Kummli’s artistic creations.
